Patricia Lozano is an artist specializing in watercolour painting, plant portrait paintings and floral illustrations. She grew up in a rural environment, and as an artist is inspired by all things nature. She graduated in Universidad Politécnica de Valencia with a Fine Arts degree. She is also a trained florist, which has had a clear impact on her art.
Patricia also has a background in graphic design and currently has developed an interest in surface design for textiles, creating beautiful repeat patterns.
In her work process she emphasizes the qualities of watercolours working dry on wet and wet on wet techniques, applying several layers that can be seen through, owing to the inherently transparent quality of watercolour paint. It is a lenghty process that requires patience. However, it is completely worthy as the final result is a vibrant piece of art full of textures and depth.
As a person who values nature deeply, she aims minimize the environment impact that her production processes might cause by mainly working with watercolours, which are kinder on the environment than other mediums, and choosing eco-friendly papers from brands that have a commitment to keep things as sustainable as possible.
